Whatsup guys and Happy Spring 2021. I’m glad to be out of the winter months and feeling good getting some fresh air outside. The cherry blossoms are in bloom and the tulips are showing off their bright rainbow colors. I’m wishing everyone a happy and healthy season this year as we all continue to ride this crazy roller coaster of life.

I’m a little bit late getting this post out than I’d like to be. But nevertheless, here it is! Mothers Day 2021 is just around the corner and I’ve been trying to think of something nice to do for my mom this year. It’s been a hard year for everyone and I think everyone can use a little extra love. Since I play in a band, I was thinking of maybe doing a mini-concert for my mom. Welcome back! Today we are exploring the beautiful boho rattan sector of Etsy. So, let’s get right into it, and answer that curious question that a lot of us have. What’s the difference between rattan and wicker? After doing a bit of research, since I also didn’t truly understand, I found a pretty simple answer.
Rattan is a product, while wicker is a process.
Info Bloom does a nice little article here explaining more if you are interested. But essentially what I found is that rattan is a type of material made from the climbing palms of the subfamily Calamoideae. Whereas wicker is a type of weaving technique that can be used with a variety of different materials. Make sense?

Although the wind is still brisk, the warmth of the sun feels like an appetizer to a hot summer meal. That’s right, it’s finally spring! The little purple flowers in my garden have already started to break through the soil and the robins have taken over the fields. Yesterday I got to put my winter clothes into storage and pull out some of my spring and summer stuff. Which led to me realizing that I need new spring and summer stuff! One of the things I think a lot of us have come to realize in the last year, is that scaling things down has a lot of benefits. Not having to prepare huge feasts and parties for every occasion can immensely reduce stress. Not to say, that it isn’t fun and can be very rewarding to plan and prepare large events, however, I believe a lot of us have realized that it isn’t always necessary.
