Shambala…
If for no other reason, the landscape of the Kabak Valley is enough to make the trip. My stay at The Shambala was a peaceful one; amongst the vibrant colours of the tropical-like scenery and the reflections of ancient civilizations. Good food, great company and breathtaking views. The Shambala welcomed us with free camping in exchange with nightly fire performances for their guests. This was lucky because normally the stay can be a little more on the expensive side.
Where to stay
A stay in one of their beautiful bungalows can cost anywhere from 70TL – 315TL per night (approx. 25CAD – 112CAD per night), depending on the season and how luxurious you want your cabin to be. Cabins, Bungalows and Treehouses include breakfast and open buffet dinner. They also have areas to set up your tent if you are on a smaller budget. What the Valley offers
- The campgrounds have the view of the Mediterranean Sea, and it’s just a quick walk down the hillside to arrive to the beach. There they offer boat excursions to take you to see ancient ruins and other close-by beaches.
- Paragliding above the transparent blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea.
- About a 2 hour trek to reach the nearby waterfall. This beautiful wonder is a delight for nature enthusiasts and photographers alike.
The Shambala has visible evidence of the love that has been put into building the site. Every building is unique, the floors are detailed, and the decorations are one-of-a-kind.
Just in front of the space where they hold nightly bonfires stands the Kabak Connection music room. Maybe hard to tell from the outside, but the walls open up to reveal a treasury of musical instruments. This space is open for those who wish to jam, create and entertain. Once you play in the Kabak Connection, you (like many others) gain access to exclaim “I am part of the Kabak Connection!”.
