Montreal Etsy Fair 2017 – Support Local!

This week I enjoyed myself at the 2017 Montreal Etsy Fair! There were tons of artists (100+), and a TON of people! It was one of those events that you can’t really stop walking… You just get engulfed by the current and find yourself back at the beginning all of a sudden…. How did that happen? Nevertheless, it was amazing to see so many people come out to support the incredible local talent that Montreal has to offer!

The event itself was held in a very atmospheric warehouse, and ran from 12-6 on a Saturday and 12-5 on Sunday.

So here are some Montreal Etsy artists that caught my attention…

Jaune Pop : Etsy Shop

Jaune-Pop is a cheerful Montreal Etsy shop that turns friendly drawings into playful toys. Dress up your own rabbit friend with her paper accessories; use your imagination to colour in the many colouring pages; print out your own art-filled day-planning pages; or grab some magnets to create stories on the fridge.

Ponto! : Etsy Shop

So if you don’t already know who Ponto is, he is the Montreal road barrel. He stars in the comic series Ponto which you can find here; English Version : Version Française. He’s a humorous twist on the not-so-hilarious situation that real Montrealers experience everyday; the never-ending construction of their decaying city. The optimistic Ponto brings a smile to the situation, and for that, we love him!

Catherine Bouchard Creations : Etsy Shop

Okay, these fish… are… amazing. I wish so bad I could have left with one but unfortunately I’m leaving Montreal soon and my backpack just doesn’t have the space for it… But thank goodness she has an online store! Actually… She has a couple of them! Catherine also makes crazy animal sculptures, check them out here.

Printed and assembled in Montreal, Julien and Emily move their designs from their creative minds onto beautiful products. Besides sleep masks they also have clothes, bags, pins, key chains, pillows, and more!

Amelie Dubois Art : Etsy Shop

Amelie Dubois creates lovely relatable artwork. There is something for everyone! The yogi, the nature-enthusiast, the animal-lover, the star-gazing astronomers, and those who cherish simple family moments. She will even re-create your family portrait!

Monique Monique Tricot : Etsy Shop

Wow! What an amazing variety of little knitted cacti! If you visit her Etsy shop you’ll see an amazing selection of different (and ‘tellement’ cute) cacti friends!

Abeille Soins Quotidiens : Etsy Shop

“Bee – Daily Care”; obviously I had to mention this great little Montreal Etsy shop, from one ‘bee’ to another! These two sisters have combined talents and skills to come up with some awesome organic products. All-natural soaps, lip balms, massage bars, and insect repellents based with organic honey and beeswax.

Madue Fabrik : Etsy Shop

Another Montreal Etsy shop I adored. I found these hand-sewn cotton baskets, bowls and mats to be so pleasing and darling to look at. Perfect for bread, nuts, coasters, hot-plates, storage or whatever comes to your mind!

I loved reading this, nothing better than supporting local business! It’s a lot of times less expensive, better quality, folks engage with you, and using products like local honey helps your immune system, as opposed to building your immune system up for somewhere you don’t live. Very good read!

I couldn’t agree more! I’m glad you enjoyed 🙂 Check out my Locals archive (found in the header^) to see more amazing Support Local blog posts. Once a week I interview a local business and write a post in an effort to encourage them within their communities.
